Project Title: Developing a naturally derived nutrient solution from recirculating aquaculture system effluent using batch vermifilter reactors
The project characterized the effectiveness of worm-assisted aerobic mineralization reactors to treat aquaculture waste for reuse in hydroponic farming. The goal of this work was to aid in developing a circular nutrient economy to minimize pollution, increasing sustainability, and reduce waste treatment expenses in the controlled environment agriculture industry.
