{"id":50157,"date":"2024-01-25T17:56:59","date_gmt":"2024-01-25T17:56:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/centers.harrisburgu.edu\/aquaponics\/?p=50157"},"modified":"2024-01-25T17:56:59","modified_gmt":"2024-01-25T17:56:59","slug":"2023-2024-pa-farm-bill-ag-youth-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/centers.harrisburgu.edu\/aquaponics\/2023-2024-pa-farm-bill-ag-youth-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"2023-2024 PA Farm Bill Ag &amp; Youth Grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our 2023-2024 Agriculture and Youth direct grant application entitled &#8220;Improving Food Security through CEA Education in Urban School Districts&#8221; was selected for funding.<\/p>\n<p>This round of funding will support 10 Cedar Cliff students for CiHS, 3 SciTech students for traditional dual enrollment, and 10 Steelton-Highspire students for on-site instruction by HU faculty that will utilize the HU Aquaponics Research Greenhouse, located on Steelton-Highspire School District property. A portion of the grant will also be devoted to community outreach and education that will be facilitated through a partnership with The Hill Farm.<\/p>\n<p>This grant is expanding upon previous efforts and trying to reach a population of learners that are located within food deserts to educate students and their communities on ways that food security can be impacted on an individual level.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our 2023-2024 Agriculture and Youth direct grant application entitled &#8220;Improving Food Security through CEA Education in Urban School Districts&#8221; was selected for funding.
